"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it  stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
ABOUT ME: Nothing really qualifies me for anything, but with so many people expressing their thoughts and stuff, I thought I would throw in a few of my own. I am a 69 year old, rather conservative, retired guy living near Gahanna Ohio. Not really much interesting about me other than I have managed to live for 69 years. Been married for over 46 of them, I have a wonderful family and I love my life. Hope you enjoy the site.

Doin nothin as usual.  I can only act at the direction of a human being, otherwise, I just sit here.  There does seem to be the impression that I'm evil and ugly and nasty etc., etc.  But, nope, I'm just a hunk of metal waiting for someone to use me, hopefully in a safe and sane manner, but I don't get to pick that.  Here are some points that I know.

   1. I have never acted alone.
   2. I have never wished harm on anyone
   3. The people that use me come from all philosophies.
   4. I have never killed anyone.

There are many who are attempting to make me go away, never to be in the hands of anyone, regardless of their intentions or proposed use of me.  There are some who hate the idea that I even exist.  Here again, I didn't get to pick that.
Most of the time the call to ban me and my peers is in the spirit of "We must do something!", after someone(s) decide to do evil things with me.  I would suggest a look at our society and the motives behind much of this unrest.

The first motive is via narcissism, i.e., if I don't want or have something then you shouldn't either.  It's as simple as that.  I know what's best for everyone.  Not exactly promoting freedom and tolerance, but it is one motive that is based only upon their perception of the issue.

The most powerful of the motives is fear. Having seen or heard of the result of someone propagating the use of me in a harmful or deadly way.  Fear would lead someone to believe that this is what I'm here for.  That the reason this happened simply because I exist. Holding me suggested and empowered that someone into the actions they have taken.  In some incredible jump of deflected fear, the culprit became a hunk of metal rather than the person who carried out the deed.

Its interesting, in 2019 according to the Nation Safety Council, 38,800 were killed in automobile accidents. Yet no one is suggesting that automobiles should be banned.  Rifles and shotguns are reported to have caused the death of 500+ while handguns are over 6,600.  Where is the logic in going after my kind.  There is nothing but fear.

Bottom line, if we let fear determine the rule of law, we will have a country with no freedoms and only criminals will have the weaponry to take us down.

He is not my president!
I think this started during the Bush administration as a way to express a dislike for the choices the country made for president.  Unable to accept the majority rule method of election.  What ever the intention the fact is this, if you are a citizen of the United States of America and some one is the  duly elected president of same, he is your president.
more on this later

  Because ??? is an idiot!

A catch all designed to cover up the notion that there may be a reason with which to validate an uneducated perception. This is a fall back to the idea that we know, they don't.  Also under-lining a dilution unmolested with facts.
