Tiger is a good golfer, but...
You have to concede that Tiger Woods is an incredible golf talent who will most likely break all existing records.  He is interesting to watch when he pulls off the improbable shots and makes the long putts.  Having said that, let's get real.

There are 194 tour players on the PGA tour and some of them play some pretty good golf.  Even in the same tournaments and at the same time as Tiger.  Every now and then, one of them actually wins a tournament in which Tiger is playing.  But, we wouldn't know it from watching the TV coverage.  I really think that Jim Nantz would dine on Tiger's fingernail clippings if he had the chance.  When Tiger missed the cut at the 2006 U.S Open, Nantz suggesting that there be an asterisk by Geoff Ogilvey's name since Tiger missed the cut!!!  GIVE ME A BREAK!.

Lately the TV announcers, in an effort to keep Tiger on the road to Beatification, have been broadcasting tournaments a bit like this:

Nantz: "To the 14th hole where Phil Michelson has a chance on an eagle after driving the 428 yard par 4,  David?"

Feherty: "Phil is over the putt after studying the break with Bones, his longtime caddie.  This will put Phil in the lead if...."

interruption

Nantz: "We're on the 16th tee where Tiger Woods, the greatest person who has ever played the game of golf or any other game for that matter has, I believe, pulled a bottle of water out of his bag!!, Peter?"

Kostis:  "Your absolutely right Jim.  He has a bottle of Aquafina that he pulled out of his bag, and he's actually drinking it while we're watching.  That's really something"

Nantz:  "Peter,  Is he holding the bottle with his left hand?"
(The deafening roar of the crowd around 14 is heard in the background)
Kostis:  "Yes, Jim.  Good observation and an incredibly competitive display by Tiger"

Nantz:  "Yep, he's sending a message that he's charging.  I wish the crowd would quite down so we can hear Tiger gulp,  They must be cheering for the amount of water Tiger took in. Who doesn't believe that Tiger will come from 8 strokes back with 3 holes to play.  He's got plenty of golf to play yet."

Kostis: " The cheering came from 14 somewhere for some reason.  How rude the crowd can be....."

Nantz:  "Well Johnny, what did you think of that!  Isn't Tiger something?"

Miller:  "He was probably thirsty you idiot."

Anyway, you get the picture and unfortunately, so do I.  When Angel Cabrera sank a putt on 18 to win the 2007 US Open, the camera focused on Tiger Woods walking to the clubhouse for the next 5 minutes so we never got to see the joy that Angel had to be displaying for winning one of the great golf tournaments.  Then we had to put up with endless prattle and interview with Tiger to thoroughly discuss why he LOST!

Maybe they need a Tiger network for coverage like that and then give us PGA Tour coverage.  All the players.  I understand if they focus on the leader board and I'm good with that, but give them equal time!!  And if Tiger's not one of them, don't show us what he is not doing!!!
